Two weeks from today we will wake up in another country. It feels crazy...but exciting all at the same time!
Our house is sold, my truck has sold, and yesterday we sold Brigit's car - thankfully, my friend who is buying it is going to allow us to drive it until the day before we leave. While in the word this morning, the Lord really impressed a scripture on my heart: "He (Abraham) did not waver at the promise of God through unbelief, but was strengthened in faith, giving glory to God, and being fully convinced that what He had promised He was also able to perform. And therefore "it was accounted to him fo righteousness."" Romans 4:20-22 When each of us faces a time in life when we need to see God come through in amazing ways, we MUST be FULLY CONVINCED that He will fulfill His promises to us. So this morning, I am fully convinced that the Lord is going to provide EVERYTHING we need to fulfill His will in Costa Rica - and I believe that He will do the same for you!

It has been a CRAZY weekend - it just so happens that the weekend the Lord moves for us to be able to begin the actual process of relocating is the same weekend as our community garage sale. Now...I am not a fan of garage sales, but when you need to get rid of a bunch of stuff in a hurry and want to make a few bucks in the process, it's not a bad gig. His timing was perfect! One amazing thing that happened on Friday was that a total stranger came by to shop. Once she heard why we were moving, she handed Brigit a check for $500 to help us with our relocation - SIMPLY UNBELIEVABLE!!! We have so many things to do before our departure at the end of July, but I know that God is going to be faithful. Our major prayer requests are that we can find the right vehicle and house in Costa Rica for our family - so please stand with us for this to come to pass! (We still need $12,000 to come in to get our truck.) Thank you all so much for your encouraging words over the weekend; we sincerely appreciate them! At this point, it looks like we are 95% sure we will finally get to move to Costa Rica. Here's all that has happened in just a few days:
1. We have someone to rent our home - they need it by July1st. 2. Our departure date wouldn't be until August 1st, so we needed somewhere to stay in July - tonight God provided that place. 3. Our neighborhood garage sale just happens to be this weekend - we can sell a bunch of stuff! 4. It looks like we may have a place to stay for free for the first 5 weeks in Costa Rica - confirmation on this to come... 5. Dave Thompson @ Indy's 1-800-Pack-Rat gave me a great deal on a container to store some of our things - FAVOR! 6. God is continuing to provide some big deals for me in my sales job right before we go - too cool. To say that we are excited, and a bit nervous, would be an understatement. This has been a long time coming, and we still have a few hurdles to jump. Please keep the following in your prayers: 1. Sale of our vehicles 2. Good price on airline tickets 3. Long-term housing in Costa Rica 4. Remaining $12,000 to come in for our pick up truck in Costa Rica As I look at all that the Lord has done in the last few days, I know that these other things will come to pass also! Thank you Jesus! In the blink of an eye things have begun to transpire that could land us in Costa Rica by the beginning of August!
Too many details to put in this blog, but HOLD FAST because when God begins to move, NOTHING will get in His way! More updates to come soon.... PRAISE THE LORD! We are now up to $3,500 in our Costa Rica Truck fund!!!
It won't be long and we will have our goal of $20,000...and I know that the timing will be just perfect! Thank you financial partners of TOFM! We love you! Every week we are adding people to our team for this trip in July. If you have ever thought about going on a short-term mission trip, this is your year!
Get all of the details here! Last night my amazing wife was reading an article by Joyce Meyer to me that TOTALLY spoke to my heart.
When God gives us a vision, He doesn't always give us the timimg. We can see the end result and imagine what it will be like, but we don't always know exactly how we are going to reach the destination. Pregnancy is an amazing process. We can imagine what the baby is going to look like and act like (though we are usually wrong ;-) ) and we begin to make preparations for the new arrival. We arrange furniture, paint walls, buy cothes, on and on it goes... I have realized that is exactly what is going on with our move to Costa Rica and the start of our International Evangelistic Training Center. We are giving birth to a HUGE new arrival. There are many, many preparations that must be made. Therefore I continue to trust in the Lord that He is guiding our steps as we walk out this time of being "pregnant." I know that He is faithful and will reveal all things in His timing...Have a great week as you too seek His face! God is moving tremendously! Yesterday we had another $1,000 come in for our truck fundraiser - we are now up to $2,200....only $17,800 to go.
In addition, mission trips to Costa Rica are starting to line up. People are already asking about our July 2012 trip, I met with a Christian School that may bring as many as 30 kids the summer of 2013 AND I have another meeting tomorrow to discuss hosting a trip for a group of ladies from a 1,500 member church. God is good!!! PS - Brigit is speaking this weekend - check out www.created2conquer.com to get the details! |
