In true Brigit fashion...we have added another dog to the family roster. Malu is a rescue - her "owner" was going to kill her after she had puppies - which he promptly sold after their birth...hence the rescue.
She is good little golden retriever mix - the only question that remains is how will Beckett (our hound who is still in the US) like her once he gets down here? Maybe this is TMI - but it's our life! HA!

Isaac's ear is still giving him grief, so we ended up coming to the hospital after all.
Brigit and he are inside (we have no idea how long this will take) while Abby and I are chillin' in the car. Believe it or not I am posting this blog via my internet connection on my cell phone - isn't technology great! Anyway - God is good and we are thankful for trained, caring medical professionals who can help. Have a great evening! At the entrance to our driveway we have a chain that we put up when we go in and out of the gate. It is Isaac's job to put it up and take it down so that we can pass through with our truck. To make the chore more enjoyable, I always let him ride on the outside of the truck - he really thinks he is 'the bomb' because he gets to do this!
Thanks for your prayers for our meeting yesterday. The work says that there is wisdom in the council of many, and we truly feel that the Holy Spirit gave us great insight into His work for us here in Costa Rica. More details to come in our monthly email newsletter! May the Lord richly bless you today! Before our meeting this morning Brigit is teaching Spanish to some other missionaries who are here also. It is so cool to see how God is moving His children here to reach this LOST community!
We are the minority for sure - but the tide is about to turn! Gloria a Dios! No matter where I am in the world, I always love sunsets. It reminds me that there are seasons in life - a beginning and an end to all things....
My mom and dad are heading back the States this Friday - it has been great to have them here and we will be sad to see them go...but I am sure they will be back once the ice starts to form on their driveway! LOL! On a different note, we have a really important ministry meeting tomorrow morning, so your prayers are greatly appreciated! Thanks be to the Lord for our brother's and sisters in Christ - we had some dear friends send in half the funds we need for the brakes on our truck today - we are so grateful! PS - If you don't receive our monthly newsletters via email, please go to the contact us page and send me your email - we will be sure to get you on there! Blessings from Central America!! The first time I got gas here I freaked out! Quickly I grabbed a calculator and did the calculations - gas is $5.82 per gallon - $100 to fill the tank....wow...It's a good thing I serve the Great I Am (gas bill payer). Ha!
Have a great Saturday wherever you are today and remember the price at my pump compared to yours! (It will make you feel better ;-) ) See the blue dot - that's where we live!
Today we had MONSOON rains for a long time - rivers are flooded, no power or internet for hours - but this is a rain forest after all! Please know that if you are reading this, we are forever grateful for your prayers! We have some BIG things stirring in hearts for ministry here...we just need time and prayers to make sure we are hearing the Holy Spirit...we don't need an Ishmael!! Blessings! This is my new buddy , Denise. I love how wherever I go in the world that children are always open and receptive to the Gospel. Time and time again entire families have been won to the Lord because a child got saved first! If you have any children in your life that don't know Jesus as their Savior - share the Gospel with them! Don't think that they don't understand...they do and their salvation is REAL!
On a totally different note...a friend of mine once said, "dude - you need to let people know what your specific needs are for the ministry so they know how to pray and give." So - we need brakes. It isn't glamorous, but our truck needs new brakes on the front. Bottom line - $200. If you feel led to help with this, please visit our partner page to make a donation. THANK YOU! Well...after 3 trips to the doctor, an ear flush and some drops it seems like the boy is going to live!
Thanks for the prayers! Isaac has some sort of debris/bug in his ear - we are off to the hospital to go get it removed/evaluated. Thanks!
