It is humorous to see what has become normal...let me explain.
Friday I went to San Isidro - the biggest city within an hour of us. On my way up the curvy mountain road I came face to face with three (3) full-sized horses running down the mountain highway at full speed. The guy in front of me came pretty close to turning them into glue - I strategically positioned my truck off on the right-hand side of the road in the small ditch to ensure I didn't get trampled...a typical drive up the mountain. Saturday we had a chill day hangin' out with some friends. We grilled hot dogs (at least the Costa Rica version) and ate beans. Today (Sunday) we had a great service at church. God moved, two people got saved - it was beautiful. Pastor Payton announced to the church that he was leaving for the states for the next 30 days and that I would be sharing the leadership role with another gentleman from the church in his absence. One of my dearest friends (an older gentleman who is always dressed to perfection in his Tico cowboy attire) came up to me after the service and said, "have a good afternoon Pastor Scott." I hadn't heard that in a while! I quickly assured him that I am ready, willing and able to serve the Body in pastor's absence, but I preferred the title "evangelist" if I was going to have any title at all....honestly, I'm not much into titles - I just want to make Jesus famous.... Anyway, I digress...We stopped at the grocery store on the way home from church and saw a friend of ours in the check-out line. She was in a good mood because she had just found out the chiropractor was in town and she had an adjustment. Brigit asked her where his office was, and she replied quite matter of fact, "he doesn't have an office, he just sets up a table on the sidewalk in front of the grocery store." Sure enough, when we came out, there he was working on someone else.....only in Costa Rica!
