Is God Really in Control? / ¿Está Dios realmente en control?

Maybe you’ve been there too… You’re in a conversation with other believers, and you start talking about the news, or political things, or the ugly things going on in the world… Then someone pipes up and says, “Well, God is in control.”
 
But is that really true? Is God the author of the bad things you see happening in the world right now? Or maybe a better question is, does He permit bad things to happen? Or allow them to happen? I’m just writing it how I hear people say it sometimes.
 
But there’s always been something that bothers me about this… Do you want to know why?
 
In the presence of people who don’t know God, when we say, “God is in control,” we can actually drive them away from Him. If we hint around that He is somehow the author of all the craziness and chaos of the world today, it’s a problem. People won’t want Him, if they think He’s bad and not good.
 
When we say this, we’re actually saying that God is the author of bad things… destruction, disease, war, tragedy, and more. Or at least that He permits them. Maybe people don’t mean it that way, but we need to be really careful in this area.
 
1. Remember, satan is the god of this world. He is the prince of the power of the air (Ephesians 2:2). Therefore, he is running things down here on earth. Believers have authority over him, and over his attempts to deceive them or to interfere in their lives, but many Christians don’t know that (Luke 10:19 and Ephesians 6:13). 
2. Sometimes bad things happen on earth because of people's decisions. Think about it. It has happened to you too. Someone made a bad decision and it affected you. But it was not the work of God. People on earth have free will. Fortunately for you and me, we still have Romans 8:28 which says that all things work together for our good when we love God and are called according to his purpose (Brigit's paraphrase). God can still take bad and turn it into good, when we love Him and follow Him. 
I know your goal is like mine: you want to bring people closer to God and not farther from Him.

Tal vez usted también ha estado allí... Está en una conversación con otros creyentes y comienza a hablar sobre las noticias, o cosas políticas, o las cosas feas que suceden en el mundo... Entoncesalguien habla y dice: “Bueno, Dios está en control."
 
¿Pero es eso realmente cierto? ¿Es Dios el autor de las cosas malas que ves que suceden en elmundo ahora mismo? O tal vez una mejor pregunta es: ¿Permite Él que sucedan cosas malas? Simplemente lo escribo como escucho a la gente decirlo a veces.
 
Pero siempre ha habido algo que me molesta de esto… ¿Quieres saber por qué?
 
En presencia de personas que no conocen a Dios, cuando decimos: “Dios tiene el control,” enrealidad podemos alejarlos de Él. Si insinuamos que Él es de alguna manera el autor de toda la locura y el caos del mundo actual, es un problema. La gente no lo querrá si piensan que es maloy no bueno.
 
Cuando decimos esto, en realidad estamos diciendo que Dios es el autor de cosas malas... destrucción, enfermedades, guerras, tragedias y más. O al menos que Él los permita. Quizás la gente no lo diga así, pero debemos tener mucho cuidado con este tema.
 
1. Recuerde, satanás es el dios de este mundo. Él es el príncipe de la potestad del aire (Efesios2:2). Por lo tanto, él está dirigiendo las cosas aquí en la tierra. Los creyentes tienen autoridadsobre él y sobre sus intentos de engañarlos o interferir en sus vidas, pero muchos cristianos no lo saben (Lucas 10:19 y Efesios 6:13).
 
2. A veces suceden cosas malas en la tierra debido a las decisiones de las personas. Piénsalo. A titambién te ha pasado. Alguien tomó una mala decisión y eso te afectó. Pero no fue obra de Dios. La gente en la tierra tiene libre voluntad. Afortunadamente para usted y para mí, todavía tenemosRomanos 8:28 que dice que todas las cosas pueden ayudar a nuestro bien, cuando amamos a Dios y somos llamados conforme a Su propósito (paráfrasis de Brigit). Dios todavía puede tomarlo malo y convertirlo en bueno, cuando lo amamos y lo seguimos.
 
Sé que tu objetivo es como el mío: quieres acercar a las personas a Dios y no alejarlas de Él.
