Dangerous Times / Tiempos peligrosos

***Below is an excerpt from a new book I’m writing called, “Mistaken Identity: God is Not Your Problem.”
 
We are living in dangerous times. The stakes are high right now. Rightly dividing and understanding the Word of God is crucial. Making sure we understand Who God is, and what He does, can’t be replaced with anything else. There is no substitute for being clear about His position, and the plan He has for the ones He loves.
 
This is a prophetic word for anyone who will listen. Even if you don’t call yourself a Christian, read on. I think you were drawn to read this book, because what you will find in its pages can set you straight on a topic that calls for clarity. Here’s the topic: Is God for me or against me? Does He love me or set traps for me? Does He want me to live or die? Thrive or survive? Win or lose in life?
 
Questions like these seem easy to answer…but are they?
 
It seems like most of the world is confused about this subject. Go to any Christian YouTube channel and you’ll hear a wide range of explanations for the hard stuff that can happen in life. After all, if you’re a believer, what do you do when someone you love is harmed in a violent crime? What can you say when someone sues your business and it’s a total surprise? How should you react when a kid who followed Jesus overdoses on a deadly combination of drugs and dies? What went wrong when a preacher gets into his plane to fly home and it crashes in route? These are all true to life tragedies that really happened…and incidents like these beg for answers. Especially for those who are confused.
 
In short…why do bad things happen to good people?
 
If God is good, then why were there deadly tornadoes ripping through the state of Texas in May 2024? Why did Hurricane Ian destroy Ft. Meyers in the state of Florida in September 2022? If God is a good God, then why did my friend’s nephew die from fentynol poisoning? Why are people killing each other in all kinds of wars? Why does hatred seem to grow between the races of the world? It can all seem really overwhelming when you think about it.
 
It seems like conditions in the world are going from bad to worse, and it’s hard to find people who are really optimistic and living in hope about the times we face.
 
But don’t despair! This is not the end, it’s actually the beginning. I believe the answers you find in this book will open your eyes and make you free – free to truly worship God, because you have no doubts about his character and integrity, or His intentions in your life. After all, it’s hard to love someone when you’ve got trust issues.

Vivimos en tiempos peligrosos. Hay mucho en juego en este momento. Dividir y comprendercorrectamente la Palabra de Dios es crucial. Asegurarnos de que entendemos quién es Dios y quéhace no puede ser reemplazado por nada más. No hay sustituto para tener claridad acerca de Su posición y el plan que Él tiene para aquellos a quienes ama.
 
Esta es una palabra profética para cualquiera que escuche. Incluso si no te consideras cristiano, sigue leyendo. Creo que se sintió atraído por leer este libro, porque lo que encontrará en sus páginas puede orientarlo directamente sobre un tema que requiere claridad. Este es el tema: ¿Dios está a favor o en contra de mí? ¿Me ama o me tiende trampas? ¿Quiere Él que viva o muera? ¿Prosperar o solamente sobrevivir? ¿Ganar o perder en la vida?
 
Preguntas como estas parecen fáciles de responder... pero ¿lo son?
 
Parece que la mayor parte del mundo está confundido acerca de este tema. Vaya a cualquiercanal cristiano de YouTube y escuchará una amplia gama de explicaciones sobre las cosasdifíciles que pueden suceder en la vida. Después de todo, si eres creyente, ¿qué haces cuando un miembro de familia querido resulta herido en un delito violento? ¿Qué puedes decir cuandoalguien demanda a tu empresa y es una sorpresa total? ¿Cómo debería reaccionar cuando un niñoque siguió a Jesús sufre una sobredosis de una combinación mortal de drogas y muere? ¿Quésalió mal cuando un predicador se sube a su avión para volar a casa y se estrella en el camino? Todas estas son tragedias reales que realmente sucedieron... e incidentes como estos pidenrespuestas. Especialmente para aquellos que están confundidos.
 
En resumen… ¿por qué a la gente buena le pasan cosas malas?
 
Si Dios es bueno, entonces ¿por qué hubo tornados mortales que arrasaron el estado de Texas enmayo de 2024? ¿Por qué el huracán Ian destruyó Ft. Meyers en el estado de Florida enseptiembre de 2022? Si Dios es un Dios bueno, entonces ¿por qué murió el sobrino de mi amigo por envenenamiento con fentinol? ¿Por qué la gente se mata entre sí en todo tipo de guerras? ¿Por qué parece crecer el odio entre las razas del mundo? Todo puede parecer realmenteabrumador cuando lo piensas.
 
Parece que las condiciones en el mundo van de mal a peor y es difícil encontrar personas que sean realmente optimistas y vivan con esperanza sobre los tiempos que enfrentamos.
 
¡Pero no te desesperes! Este no es el final, en realidad es el comienzo. Creo que las respuestasque encuentres en este libro te abrirán los ojos y te harán libre, libre para adorar verdaderamentea Dios, porque no tienes dudas sobre su carácter e integridad, ni sobre sus intenciones en tu vida. Después de todo, es difícil amar a alguien cuando tienes problemas de confianza.
