The Lord confirmed His direction for our lives and ministry through many, many people as my dad and I traveled through the country.  Excitement does not begin to describe how I feel about this next step for our lives.

Please continue to pray for our truck fundraiser and the sale of our home.

For the first time in the history of our ministry I have had to cancel a mission trip.  We will not be taking a team to Costa Rica this July. 

While there are a variety of reasons, life has taught me to trust in the Lord during these times.  He truly sees the big picture...He knows what will be going on in our lives in July, and it is evident that this trip is not going to be it.

Strangely, I am at total peace about postponing this trip to a future date.

So....we continue to press on seeking His face!]]><![CDATA[Build your road today...]]>Tue, 03 Apr 2012 07:01:48 -0800http://www.touchoffire.net/1/post/2012/04/build-your-road-today.htmlI recently heard Pastor Jentzen Franklin preach about the roads we build for our lives.  It really spoke to me - each one of us lays a road for our future every day.  It may be in the realm of how we raise our children, or it might be in the area of finances, but we take steps every day in one direction or another.

I have been intentionally laying my road for our future in Costa Rica.  We have been making small repairs to our home for its sale this spring, looking at homes online in the area where we would like to move, etc.

In addition, I have booked a ticket for my next trip down to CR.  During this time I am going to be getting everything lined up for our team trip in July, as well as laying the groundwork for my family's future.

Who is your source of income today?  Your job, your IRA?  I am thankful that the Lord God Almighty is the source for all things for TOFM.  I know he uses people, but ohh how we have learned to keep our eyes on Him and not on man!

As a guy, I am always ready to jump in and fix things - you know what I mean...determine the logical process and repeat it to get the desired result. 

Well, the Lord doesn't work like that.  He rarely does the same thing twice the exact same way - I guess that is what keeps our relationship alive and interesting!

He proved Himself again to me this weekend in unique and beautiful ways.  I know that His timing is perfect.

When God gives us a vision, He doesn't always give us the timimg.  We can see the end result and imagine what it will be like, but we don't always know exactly how we are going to reach the destination.

Pregnancy is an amazing process.  We can imagine what the baby is going to look like and act like (though we are usually wrong ;-) ) and we begin to make preparations for the new arrival.

We arrange furniture, paint walls, buy cothes, on and on it goes...

I have realized that is exactly what is going on with our move to Costa Rica and the start of our International Evangelistic Training Center.

We are giving birth to a HUGE new arrival.  There are many, many preparations that must be made.  Therefore I continue to trust in the Lord that He is guiding our steps as we walk out this time of being "pregnant."
